A huge thank you to all the 22 children and their parents who came today for the Making a Hillfort workshop, making a clay pot and making a model of an iron age round house!

We all had a great time as the photographs show……

(even though Rob Baur insisted on making clay elephants which EVERYONE KNOWS were never on the Hillfort, but hey ho!)

Some first class clay pots were made and imprinted with patterns using things like shells, and much time was spent decorating the bases of the roundhouses.

With the help of the children we created a fabric hillfort and spread hessian bracken all around it.

The round houses and the pots look superb!

They will be on display at the library until the end of February and are on display with 2 of the hand printed banners that other local children made with Griff Rhys Jones when he visited the Hillfort in the summer of 2015 to film the Hillfort for the series Griff’s Great Britain.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING LOTS OF YOU AT THE SEMINAR ON SATURDAY 11TH FEB 10.0-4.0 MEMORIAL HALL AND FOR THE HUG AT THE WESTERN ENTRANCE TO THE HILLFORT ON SUNDAY 12TH FEB. BRING YOUR HEART!!
