We remembered Peter Vidal the founder of the gallery and all that he had achieved with great fondness.

We reminded ourselves that we should, like him, live every day to the full, never putting anything off, and living with passion.

It was really lovely to see Carol, who had come with June and be reminded about their art journeys. They both very much identified with

Dorothy’s thinking about the importance of place and of being in the place and the way many artists attempt to express that in their

work in very  different ways.

Dorothy and Diana are getting ready for their M.A. show in the Sycharth Gallery at Glyndwr in early September – details and invite later,

Rob and Diana are visiting Ruthin Craft Centre tomorrow to see the work of Laura Ellen Bacon – “Forms of intrigue and Woven Spaces”

Josie is embarking on print, Des is getting ready for Helfa Gelf, Carmel is just back from Italy enthused by the work of

sculptor Igor Mitoraj – look him up! His huge bandaged fragmented classical bodies speak strongly to us in our war torn world of today.

As time passed and the group became smaller our discussions became more intense. These discussions  are always helpful

and stir the creative juices, however, today dissolved into mirth when we heard that we had unwittingly been referred to as the “knitters”.

(We must remember to take some wool and needles next time we meet in the Willow!)

Des has invited us to visit his studio in September

– the date is Wednesday 10th and directions will be posted nearer the time. He is setting up for Helfa Gelf so it will be a good time to visit.

We also have decided that one of the next meetings HAS to take place in John’s newly, and brilliantly converted chapel in Llanarmon –

but John, who is currently working hard in the Carribean, doesn’t know about this yet………..happy summer painting, drawing,

sculpting to all. See you in September!
