My name is Victoria Claire and I am a visually impaired, Kent based Artist in Contemporary Sculpture. I have over 21 years of experience, I’ve worked by commission and have several pieces all over the world, including Italy, Australia, Ireland and the UK.

You kindly connected to me on Linkedin.

Unfortunately I suffer from a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa which is a degenerative disease resulting in blindness.  This is one of the reasons why I am working so hard to reach my artistic potential.

I am currently exhibiting my Through The Eyes Of Time collection, this consists of 16 wood sculptures and 10 paintings. The sculptures are various sizes from large tabletop pieces to large floor standing pieces.

The paintings are either corresponding to some of the sculptures, or concentrate on beautiful skylines.

The concept of this collection is Life, Love and Loss, this is portrayed by three categories,

Human – Love, this contains figurative sculpture and paintings,

Natural Environment – Life, this contains water sculptures, flowers and nature sculpture as well as paintings,

Spiritual – Loss, this consists of sculptures and paintings that portray The After Life.

There is a deep meaning and personal connection to this collection and I believe it to be some of my best work to date. You can view on my website gallery page under current collection- www.victoriaclairesculpture.com

I have always sculpted in wood, I love the feel and texture when carving and particularly like the different colourations of the grain which lends itself so beautifully to the subjects. I finish my work to a high polished, glass like standard, I feel this is due to my visual impairment, as I want people to be drawn into the work and want to touch it as a tactile experience as well as a visual one.

A future issue this year

I have had great support from local councillors and Gordon Henderson MP, who is currently applying for an exhibition in The House Of Commons.

As you can see I am beginning to build a profile for myself in preparation for the year ahead. I would very much like to exhibit my work to a wider audience and am committed to building a reputation as a known artist. To reach this potential I need to exhibit as widely as I can.

I would most appreciate it if you would consider exhibiting my work at your establishment and help me gain the exhibiting experience I need to go forward.

I have attached some images of my work.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards
