Neil, Josie,Geoff, (and thank you Geoff for some of these photographs) Joan, Jim, Des, John, Rob and Diana had a most enjoyable day at Chester Cathedral. We were sorry that Chrissie and Hilary could not make it. Sketching, some serious, and some less serious conversation plus wine, coffee, tea and lunch in the nearby wine bar were had by all. It was great to catch up with everyone. We all decided we must do this again sometime soon.

We all enjoyed Liz West’s Colour Reflection – an installation – she is interested in exploring how sensory phenomena can invoke psychological and physical responses that tap into our own deeply entrenched relationships to colour. (The installation is displayed until March – well worth seeing)

Joan showed us the tiny Cobweb picture of the virgin and child painted on the net of the day time moth yponomeuta evonymella – the painting is attributable to Johann Bergman and is reputed to be a copy of one by Lucas Cranach.Yponomeuta_evonymella_Dscn6955IMG_4573
