Diana and Sandy had a great day out yesterday to attend the talk by Peter Wakelin on Roger Cecil at MOMA Machynlleth. http://moma.machynlleth.org.uk/
Peter Wakelin gave great insight into Cecil, and Cecil’s fascination with African art and how that influenced some of his work, and the visceral links andsimilarities between the suffering of African slaves on ships and the suffering endured by the miners in Abertillary come through very strongly. Cecil’s use of pattern and symbolism to express feelings works exceptionally well.
