This exhibition – downstairs in the Visitor and Exhibition Centre in Oswestry on until 26th February 2017 re-visits the celebratory events of Old Oswestry Hillfort in the last few years. It offers another chance to see the artworks, either as photographs or re-exhibited and all created in response to the affection and ownership people feel for this iconic monument. Some previously displayed e.g. Graham Mitchell’s Hillfort Jewellery, Myra Ryan’s cushion, Anne Duffy’s painting,  and a few new works, including a wonderful charcoal drawing by Des Jones and some ceramic paperweights by Hilary Greer).

Catch a glimpse of Griff Rhys Jones handprint in clay on one of the banners created by Hillfort devotees in 2015. See again the lovely hillfort paintings by children of Holy Trinity School Oswestry. Have another read of John Swogger’s Heritage Comic strips published in the Advertiser a while back. See all the press coverage of the HOOOH campaign celebrating our Heritage,  and repeatedly demonstrating the peoples’ wish to preserve it, and in particular the  setting around the Hillfort for our children. It is for the children that our Heritage Matters! Let’s make sure their future is something valuable, enjoyable and enables them to see where they come from. No one has a future unless he or she can relate to and see their past.

…And upstairs is the exhibition To Frame or not to Frame……..Two for the price of one!
