A group of us had a splendid morning visiting Ruth Thomas, Print Maker who lives beyond Ruthin. We were welcomed into her beautiful studio with tea and biscuits.

Ruth began by telling us about her art story and how she arrived at printing. She talked us through some of her works and explained how they are made, and then did a couple of demonstrations. This was later followed by a hands-on session trying out some printing and using the press.

Ruth’s studio is, as they say “to die for”! A good size, purpose built and flooded with light. Every window looks out on beautiful countryside.

Ruth is inspired with the forms of the natural world and uses them a lot in her work. She offers courses on a regular basis and we have agreed that she will send Diana details for them to be posted up here and on Borderland Visual Arts website and Facebook pages. So watch this space! Huge thanks to Ruth for a wonderful day!
