We saw where Holly works and her amazing recent portraits in oils……
Holly also showed us some wonderful
earlier black and white works in pen nd ink, very reminiscent of Beardsley
These puffins are beautifully executed
…..and then there was tea and lots of sharing of thoughts and ideas and then there were home made scones with home made blackcurrant jam and clotted cream……..
Hilary brought some wonderful drawings and this porcelain ceramic beauty with an inside base of crushed green glass – any ideas how she made it?
And we had another peep at that wonderful Hillfort pendant of green glass and copper….
Josie and Rob had brought great sketchbooks for us to browse through
Watch this space for our next sketching day towards the end of August. Possibly at Whittington Castle………
Yes, it was a lovely gathering! and thanks for the lift. Diana – I note that Rob has twice mentioned his involvement with the OCA in the past. I invited Holly to come and have a look at the handbooks, and my sketchbooks and work. I’m not sure if Rob has also thought about getting involved with OCA again, and might be interested in seeing how the courses have moved on, and what the courses look like now. Do please say to him that he’s very welcome to contact me and come and have a look anytime, if he’d like to do so.
Josie
Thank you Josie! He, and others all have your email now!
I was sorry to have missed it, but look forward to being involved in the future. On the plus side, I have nearly completed my dissertation…..but it’s been a slog.
Sorry not to be there – looks great
Some personal errands prevented me from coming.
