A very large group of artists met at The Hand in Llanarmon on Thursday and enjoyed a very warm welcome, some exceptional food, and some really friendly service. In fact we were treated royally. It was lovely to catchup with what we have all been doing, but there is never enough time!! (Must put that right in 2015!)

We congratulated Wilf on his birthday, but we all missed Mo who lost her dear partner Larry in October. He will be remembered for his lovely smile and cheerful outlook and his poetry contributions to the group. We look forward to seeing Mo again as the Spring of 2015 approaches.

When the meal was done an invigorating, if not to say very icy, walk up the road led us to Diana’s newly roofed studio where four more artists had already gathered.

Diana spoke a little about her work and also showed people where she stores her finished pieces ready to be parcelled up and sent to London where she sells most of her work through DegreeArt.com.

Then it was over the river via the little bridge to John and Freja’s ย for hot drinks and mince pies and tea in their stunningly converted chapel. Diana is privileged to be able to display one of her M.A. works above their wood burner.

Josie brought along her very, very old and very large axe head that she found when she was a child. It was a real treat to see and to hold. Thank you Josie!

ONCE AGAIN MANY THANKS TO THE HAND AT LLANARMON FOR HOSTING US ALL AND TO JOHN AND FREJA FOR OPENING THEIR NEW HOME FOR US TO VIEW, FOR GILLY IN GLYN POST OFFICE FOR PROVIDING THE DELICIOUS PIES, FREJA FOR MAKING THE TEA AND EVERYONE WHO CAME TO MAKE IT A MEMORABLE OCCASION!

(And to all those who couldn’t make it – Dorothy, Tony, Dawn, Steve – there will be another chance next year!)

NOTE: Our next gathering or outing (?? – Liverpool has been mentioned, and possibly on a Saturday) will be in February.

(With Christmas, New Year and the January Weather, organising a gathering for January has been shelved.)

WISHING YOU ALL AN EXTREMELY FESTIVE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR AND A HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE ย 2015!
