At our June meeting it was decided to make the July meeting a ‘sketchingly active’ event. We are most grateful to Steve and Irene of Underhill for welcoming us again.
Brenda Sandilands will give a short presentation about drawing and then artists are invited to sketch/draw/paint etc around the farm. (If the weather is bad there are plenty of interesting indoor spaces that would love to be sketched!) Or people can group and share what they have been up to. It’s all entirely informal and interested artists should just turn up.
By sketching we mean you to take this at its widest – ie if you want to bring collage or a piece of clay or wood with you to model or whittle, please feel free! Wilf and Paul’s amazing structures could be a starting point for inspiration, or just the wonderful natural world around one under the Llanymynech rocks may be your thing.
Directions: From Oswestry take the 483 towards Pant and as you begin to to leave Pant when you see the Cross Keys by Briggs Lane on your right watch out for the next (almost hidden) right turn to Underhill. Tea/coffee will be available to buy. If anyone wants to bring cake……………..see you there!
Hi Diana, just to say that I am sorry not to make the coming meeting as I am on holiday until the beginning of August. I saw my Underhill line work on this site next to Paul’s but right now it has disappeared again. Not that it matters only, why was it there in the first place ? I am well ready for the meeting in 7th Aug where I will raise discussions about various fixings and hangings I have come across with my work. I hope I gain from the experiences of others as much as those who come from me. I am looking forward to see whoever likes to come in my workshop and studio space. Thank you Diana to make me aware of the BBC1 programme on Vivian Maier. Looking at her work and at the presentation took me in. We don’t all have to ‘come out’ I thought as I was just locking my stuff away ofter the OS show.
Hi Wilf
Hope you have a lovely lovely holiday!! We are all looking forward to the August meeting at your studio and hearing about fixings etc. You are right “we” don’t all have to ‘come out’ as artists – that programme was very interesting wasn’t it. Happy journeying!
