The Italian Connection Exhibition – The Willow Gallery
Until 20th of May
The Willow Gallery, a bright and spacious gallery transformed from a disused car showroom in Oswestry, is currently opening a window into Italy through its Italian Connection Exhibition. This unique exhibition showcases a variety of contemporary artwork by Internationally renowned artists such as Argentinean painter Karina Carrescina, American artist Jennifer Weckselblatt and painter and sculptor Maxmillion Baccanello who is also currently exhibiting with the Royal Society of Portrait Sculptors. The diversity of techniques and media explored by British artists such as  Rosie Davies, Rob Davies, Diana Baur, Carmel Hamilton, Tereska Shepherd, John Smout, Ian Walton, Chloe Abott, and Simon Howe add further interest to this exhibition. The latter celebrates the tradition of Italian glass fusing through his vibrant and unusual glasswork.

This exhibition demonstrates how a rural contemporary gallery can create connections between international and local artists. It captures the atmosphere of Italy through a wide range of mediums and techniques including artist John Woodyatt’s innovative use of marble dust and ‘The Upcyclers’ unique recycled metal gladiator.

A worthwhile exhibition to visit and enjoy a taste of a country who’s landscape, architecture and people have been inspiring artists and crafts people over the centuries.
